Looking to craft lasting memories in your getaway? Our goal is to facilitate those memories while you are staying with us. Since we have lived in Northern Michigan sense the original Homestead Dam was still in operation we are very familiar with the area and what it has to
offer. Here are some ideas that may help you to “craft those lasting memories”.
Night Bowfishing Trips
This is offered from May – August. It is for 1-3 people but the guide pricing is for 2 and the third would be free. Fishing License is required and all gear is provided. Starting at about sundown you will be aboard an 18ft G3 with custom built bow fishing deck, lights below your feet and a sound bar in the back. The guide will light up the underwater world for hunting “rough fish”. They will guide these trips mainly on inland waters around Northern Michigan. If interested call Jason at 231-885-2420. Grouse/Woodcock/Waterfowl guided trips
This is offered from Sept 15 – Jan 1 (depending on what you are targeting). All Michigan State small game laws and licenses apply. For waterfowl all federal laws and licenses apply. Your guide will guide you on the best public lands in the area. For the waterfowl trips you will have a choice of using a Boat/Blind combination or a Field Blind option. The boat option has a 2 person maximum while the field blind has a 4 person maximum. If interested call 231-885-2420. Let them know you are staying at our resort.
Float Boat Guided Trips
This is offered all year long. It is one of the most popular reasons that people love to stay at our resort. The time of year will determine if you target Salmon, Steelhead or the numerous trout varieties in Northern Michigan streams. All Michigan State fishing laws and licenses apply. Ask the guide if you need a license if you don’t have one? We work with many different professional guides in this area. Here are a few suggestions to help you get started. Lake Michigan/Crystal Lake Charter Fishing
This is offered Spring, Summer and Fall. We must emphasize that some of the best Lake Michigan Charter fishing is in July and August! The quality on the salmon and trout are the best when caught out on the big lake during this time, if your goal is to take them home to put them on the dinner table! It is for 4 to 6 people depending on the charter. All Michigan fishing laws and licenses apply. If you don’t have a license then ask the caption if you need one? During these seasons on the big Lake Michigan you can target Salmon, Steelhead, Lake Trout just to name a few. On Crystal Lake you can target Coho Salmon, Bass of various species, Pike, Trout, Perch and others. **Crystal Lake is a great lake to introduce your children to
fishing.
Shooting Sporting Clays
This package is offered from May – September. Sporting clays are offered at a private club approximately 30 minutes away. They have an 8 station course that has 13 different presentations. The targets are thrown in a way that stimulates wing shooting with different flight patterns that offers challenging shooting along with a few presentations for beginning shooters. The course is automated allowing them to accommodate groups up to 40 people at a time. It is a 50 bird course. If you don’t have a gun, no problem, they will rent you a gun for $50.00 for 1/2 day. No shot larger than a #6 or longer than 2.75”. Lead shot is allowed. You supply your own box of shells. They will cater deli style lunches upon request. Fees depend, in addition to our normal room rental rate, on how many people are involved and if you want lunch catered. Call for additional pricing.
Pheasant Guided Trips
This is offered from August 15 – April 30. It is for 4 people. All Michigan laws and licenses apply. The hunts are half day hunts from 8 to 12 noon or from 1 to 5 in the afternoon. They include 4 birds per hunter or 16 birds total. **Additional birds can be added. Some of the pheasant farms in the area are private clubs.
